Surprising nests
Found this old nest incorporating lichen and plastic - amazing how they weave all sorts of things into their artistry. A couple of years ago, whilst cutting back the garden hedges, I found abandoned nests lined with white fur. On closer inspection, I saw it was what I had discarded in the garden after brushing the dog!

Witches' Broom
I've walked past this oddity many times in one of my hikes north of Madrid and yesterday decided to look up what it was. It's as if a branch from another kind of tree is growing out of it, with darker and denser leaves. Anyhow, it is a mutation called witches' broom and can be caused by many things, moths included and is of no harm to the tree.
